I made my first appt years after my former stylist retired. I was finally ready for a change after 30 yrs of long hair. I gave Paula free reign over my style changes as we talked about my lifestyle. She started by cutting off much of the length which allowed me to get adjusted to less weight. Second trip - layering, new bangs and more length taken off. After yesterday's complimentary bang trim, Paula was able to see how my hair is behaving. (I have some natural curl to my hair. Having it super long kept the curl weighted down and invisible.) I laugh at trying to keep my new bangs straight. Seattle rain/humidity brings out my "curl" and adds volume to my thinning hair. Paula is outstanding, and with each visit she has exceeded my expectations! I gave Paula my style challenge and trust her completely. If anyone needs a new hair style, I would highly recommend Paula at Vanity Hair Studio in Shoreline.
My experience here was very different than the reviews I read before booking my appointment. The stylist who worked with me seemed eager to get through with my appointment and didn't seem to listen to what I wanted. At one point I asked if she was putting color all over, which was not what I asked for at the start of my appointment, and she said "well it's too late now." The color at my roots doesn't really match the rest of my hair and though I asked to just trim the ends, she took a few inches off. She didn't show me color options before doing the color or show how much she planned to cut before starting the haircut. It's not what I've experienced anywhere else before, so I left feeling quite unsettled. The salon was clean and other customers that were there at the same time as me seemed to have a good experience, so maybe my stylist was having an off day or maybe It's just me.
