Mod~ Nail Salon & Studio Spa

I had previously gone to Mod Salon before they moved locations and really liked it here. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience today. I booked this appointment a month in advance for a gel manicure with complex nail art because I wanted something spooky and pretty for October. I came to the appointment and my nails were different lengths. She asked how I would like her to handle that and I asked if she could extend one of the nails, she said she did not really do that. No problem, I was happy to work around it and proceeded to show her the nail art inspiration, picture included. She proceeded to tell me that what I wanted was beyond her level of skill. That she could really only do lines or dots or simple designs. I then double checked with her verbally that I had, in fact, booked the appointment with the “complex nail art” add on and she confirmed I did, but that again she could only do simple things. My mother comes here all the time for her pedicures and suggested them when I wanted to get my nails done for engagement photos. I never get my nails done as I am extremely hands on so nails constantly chip and are short plus you never know what you might get for going to a new salon. I booked for acrylics and Tim was extremely sweet and professional as well. I have never had my nails done without a single imperfection, or streaky or uneven nails until him. He took his time and made sure every nail was up to a high standard of care. And of course the minute I got home one of them did end up chipping. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it since it always happens when i get my nails done but i was stressed about pictures. I called the salon to leave a voicemail and Tim was able to book me for a quick repair with Brooke the next morning. Beautiful, immaculately clean, and light-filled space. The owners have taken such care to create a completely customized space. I was surprised at the hour-long thorough service I received just with a “basic” pedicure. Jen and Bo were personable and attentive during service. It’s also wonderful that they’ve found a location to settle into in Old Hilliard - a much improved experience over a strip mall setting.
