JCPenney Salon

I recently went in for a cut and highlight. I haven’t been to this salon in about 15 years, so I took an appointment with the only woman available, Lula. It was the most unprofessional salon experience of my life. Not only did she completely screw up my color - to the point where she told me I could continue to return so she could tone and tone again in order to fix the precise brassy color I said I DID NOT WANT - but she was so aggressive while washing my hair that my neck went into a complete spasm; I left with a headache and vertigo so bad that I had to take prescription strength ibuprofen. When she cut my hair, she pulled on my head so hard that every muscle hurt when I stood up. I literally got in my car and could not drive. I felt like I had been on a rollercoaster. She was on her cell phone the entire time, walking away claiming she had a teenager she had to talk to. I told her my financial limit upon walking in, and she continued to push products on me. I have seen Chris twice now at this salon, and his talent & knowledge really blows me away! I had a really bad color job over a year ago (different salon) and had him cover me with an all-over dark color this past November. He matched my natural color really well and gave me a fantastic cut with layers I actually liked. I just went back yesterday for highlights for Spring and WOW! I didn’t have a specific color in mind, but he brainstormed with me and spent a lot of time making sure it was what I wanted and that it wouldn’t look bad like how my old color turned out. He pays very close attention to detail and makes sure the job is done correctly. I truly appreciate him and his talent! I will continue to go back to see Chris for all of my hair needs. Brenda is amazing! I booked my initial appointment at JCPenney salon online, not caring which stylist I saw. Luckily, my appointment was booked with Brenda and now I won’t go to anyone else! I suffer from thinning hair, so going to the salon is not usually a good experience for me. Brenda took the time and listened to what I had to say and she actually cut my hair how I wanted it. She worked with the hair I have and I left there feeling fantastic! I’ve been back to her several times since my initial appointment and now I go to her for hair extensions too. At my consultation, we came up with a plan and she helped me pick the perfect color. I use the tape in extensions for volume. Brenda puts them in so well they last forever! She also helped me pick the right products to use and taught me how to properly care for them. Not only is Brenda excellent at what she does, she’s an amazing, caring person and a joy to talk to. I recommend Brenda 100% and I’m so grateful I found her!
