Reflections of You Fairfax

These are some before and after shots of my latest cut, color and style. Anita did a wonderful job interpreting what I wanted! I came with a handful of photos of things I liked and she was able to tell me what would and would not work with my hair. She explained how my hair would react to certain styles and cuts and helped me to pick out a color that was just enough of a "pop" but would wear well in the long run. No other stylist has ever been able to explain such things to me so that I could understand. Most places would just say, "no that wouldn't work with your hair!" She takes the time to get to know you and your hair. In fact, the whole staff is just as wonderful! You can tell that they all love what they do and they make you feel special from the moment you walk in the door! Due to COVID, they are taking extra precautions with masks, gloves, extra cleanings etc. But not once did I feel like I didn't get the same loving, caring, wonderful service that I've had in the past!

Super friendly staff welcomes you when you enter the salon. Keyanne is an absolutely amazing stylist. I've been in Fairfax 4 years and tried over 9 hair salons. None worked. I don't like when my stylist is rushing through the haircut to finish quickly, but that was my experience at many medium range salons ($30 to $50 for a haircut and blow drying). At higher end salons ($60 and higher for haircut/blow dry) there was sloppy work: e.g., one side longer than the other) The biggest problem is that it seems stylists in Fairfax don't know how to cut wavy/curly hair well. At Reflections of You, and with Keyanne (a super cool and detail oriented stylist! Yaaaay!), I finally found a person who cares about my overall experience and takes time to make sure the haircut is just so. I highly recommend this salon.

It's been about a month since I got my hair cut here for the first time, and I think it's my favorite haircut that I've ever had! I've had long hair my whole life, and this was my first time going short, so the receptionist recommended making an appointment with Tisa since she's experienced with short hair. I provided her with some ideas for the general shape that I wanted (first time using Pinterest for haircut ideas, I highly recommend!), and she worked with me to find a similar haircut that was suited to my hair type/texture (wavy, frizzy, dry, and thick), desired amount of required maintenance, and styling ability/mobility. She also taught me how to style it at the end of my appointment, and showed me which products she recommended for me to use (they smell amazing and my hair is very happy with them!). If you want a short haircut, ask for Tisa, she'll give you an awesome one!
