Lydia Braiding & Weaving

I’ve gone here for years and typically have no issues with their service or quality of work. The experience I had today has solidified that I will never come back. I wanted to get knotless braids with human hair, since I typically itch with the synthetic hair. I had inquired to see if they could use human hair and was told I would have to buy the hair separately. When I came to get my hair done, I was told that they could not do the knotless braids with the human hair. I explained that the reason I had asked was due to my reaction to the synthetic hair. I was told they could do micro braids or box braids, and I opted for the box braids. The ladies that were braiding my hair kept saying that the hair was not good quality. I asked if it was going to last and look decent, and I was told yes. To make matters worse, they repeatedly kept talking about the situation with the hair I bought. I have gone to Lydia’s in the past numerous times and have been really pleased with the out come..I can’t wait to come back soon for my new braids!!

It's not the most flattering place but it's a family owned spot and all the beauticians have been there for at least the 3 years I have gone, which is nice. Bob braids turned out fantastic but the spring twist were not done right...she didn't go with the twist pattern so the style ended up being poofy instead of laying down. That was my least favorite style done at Lydia's. My crochet Senegalese twist looked good initially but don't expect them to last more than a month. Next time I do a crochet style I am going to make sure the first 2 rows at least are individually braided or twisted so that it looks more appealing for a longer time and the rest if the head can be crocheted for faster style time. I'm a stay at home mother who does low activity...I couldn't imagine getting a crochet style if I was an athlete or worked out on the regular. It wouldn't last.
