Salon Vela

I have been going to Salon Vela for a couple of years now and I have had an amazing experience everytime. I was always so nervous about getting my hair colored and Chris completely eased my nerves. He always has given me the most beautiful and natural highlights. I will not go to anyone else! I trust him with my hair completely. Thank you Chris for being an amazing person and hair stylist!

My experience with Vela salon was awful. Please, never go to this place and never pay a $50 deposit prior to the appointment. There are plenty of good places in Austin where you will get good service, fair price, and satisfaction. All good reviews in google they write by themselves. The story: When I called the Salon to make an appointment, I talked to the receptionist asking for how much would be the cost for the roots highlight, and she declared the price as $190. Then she asked for a $50 deposit, which I paid, and she gave me an appointment. I came to the salon on the appointment day and stylist Ron started working with me. Suddenly he stopped working and said, “you know, $190 is only the base price and I will charge you extra $26 for every next 15 minutes”. I was really surprised and said that when I called the salon and asked for the price, the receptionist did not mention anything about the extra $26 for every next 15 minutes and just declared the price for highlight. Ron has cut my hair for 35 years. I have followed him each time he moved to a new salon because his haircuts are the BEST. My style has changed over the years, but his expertise has remained constant. As my hair grows out between appointments it remains in perfect proportion. Along the way Ron began coloring my hair and has perfected that technique, also. As you enter Salon Vela, Simon is usually the first person you meet. He sets the tone with his warm & welcoming nature. With his business background, he is a huge asset to Salon Vela. His attention to detail ensures that the salon runs smoothly with excellent customer service. One of my favorite aspects of Salon Vela is their business model.
