Urban Loft Salon & Boutique

My fiancé gifted my 14 yr old daughter with much desired ( by her) highlights for her Christmas present. Not knowing exactly how much the service would cost they decided to get an estimate first. Urban Loft was chosen because, several years ago, we went there for her to get a pixie cut and liked the place. Since then her hair has grown quite a bit and is very thick and curly. ( Her natural hair color is black) My daughter had researched highlights for black hair extensively and had photo references of what she wanted. My fiancé took her into the salon to get the price quote so they could see what they were working with. The first woman looked at my daughter and told her it could not be done. When my daughter showed her photos of women with black hair that had been highlighted she went on to say my daughters skin tone was too dark for highlights! ( my daughter is Korean/Hispanic and Caucasian mix) A second stylist approached and said the highlights could be done and quoted $60-$85 for j

This is a clean salon with friendly staff. The sinks have a nice neck cushion for support--very comfortable. Courtney is friendly and knows how to apply excellent color.

I will never try do my hair there again. She barely cut a piece of my hair and she charged me full haircut price. The lady that did my hair did not listen to me after I told her I did not like it. She was rushing through it very quickly because she had another client and obviously did not want to do my hair. If she didn’t want to do it, she should have just said from the beginning and I would have gone elsewhere. Services: Haircut, Hairstyling, Hair coloring
