If you're Asian and you want a nice clean cut, ask for Tom. No matter how many barbers/stylists I went to, Tom was the only one to get the middle part of the sides of my head right - a fade into a 1 to 2 mm length, and none of that black lightbulb head look. Lana herself is also very good with Asian women's hair. My mom always gets a bob cut, and to her, only Lana can get the style right on her. Your mileage may vary, but it seems Lana's Hair Salon is really good with Asian heads.

I have extremely curly hair and I usually go to a salon to have it trimmed with scissors. So I decided to call Lana's Unisex Hair Salon. When I called I explained to the person who answered the phone what I was looking for and she said it would be no problem. I asked if I needed to make an appointment and she said I didn't and I can come in whenever I want. I told her I would be there shortly. Well that's when I found out what this place was truly about. Once I got there I was locking up my bike and one of the hair stylist came to the door and locked me out. When I came to the door to open it, indeed that is what she did and shooed me away. I had to put my hand up to the my face as though I was making a phone call to explain that I just called. That is when she came to the door and unlocked it and said we don't do your hair it's too curly. Go to the barber shop down the street. Now I don't have a problem with someone not wanting to do my hair but I do have a problem with the unwelcome

I've been going to Lana's Unisex Salon for 8 Years!! since I moved here to US, I never went anywhere else. They took care of my hair and I always had great compliments on it. Ask for Susan if you need a Men's Haircut, she's pretty good at it! If you're going for hair color or highlights I suggest to go as early as 10 am so that way its not too busy and you will finish early. On the weekends make sure to call ahead and make an appointment and they tend to get busy. Street parking is limited but there is a paid parking lot in front of the salon (besides dairy queen) CASH ONLY they don't accept cards.
