Nails Today

I was at this nail salon about four weeks ago for a full set. Prior to that I have visited regularly for at least 3 years since moving to the area. Anyway, some guy (right side, second to the last chair) I didn’t catch his name did my nails. I should have known something did not feel right after the acrylic applied on the nails dried because I was in intense pain. I have had my nails done for at least 20years of my life but this felt different. At first I shrugged it off as perhaps I needed to get used to the new nails (I was getting regular gel manicures for the last 6 months prior to this full set) so I thought maybe the discomfort was from not having a full set for a long time. I was wrong!!!!! The pain grew worse. Then I noticed the tip of my fingers went numb accompanied with brown discoloration. I freaked out!!! This was day 6 at this point. If you are looking for ambiance and upscale, turn around, don't go in. Regardless of the florescent lights and plastic plants, they do a great job on nails at a very reasonable price. I have been going here for years and have strayed a few times for places that are more spa like in atmosphere, but I always come back.

I have come to this salon for many years and it used to be a very nice place to relax. However, in the recent years (1-2), the salon has not been cleaned regularly nor updated in anyway. The prices have gone up for the same services and they charge you tax to use your card for their credit machine (tacky). In terms of the nail care, the quality has significantly dropped. Uneven filings, acrylic too thick or too thin, not painting the nail fully, and overly sanding down. It is time to say goodbye for me.
