They charged me $80 for just coloring my roots & they didn’t even blow dry my hair. I had to blow dry and comb my own hair. Also, my hair was left with color for 50 min. Would not really recommend.

I am new to the boston area, and i am sick of having to dye my hair every 2-3 weeks do to the sheer amount of grey I have. I called to book my appointment, and explain that i am ready to start blending my grey with my brown hair. I even explained on the phone what I wanted while looking at my reference photos and that I’ve had to dye my hair at home due to being new to Boston and not having hairstylist yet. I was assured this would not be an issue. Spoiler alert, it was an issue. My hair stylist Angela isn't even listed in the reviews or on the website, so either she is super new, or she does such bad job constantly that they remove all her reviews. I was also told that 1 person just quit and another is on vacation for the rest of the month so you can tell the remaining 2 stylists are stressed. I came to house of color to get my hair and makeup done for a wedding I attended in Boston. I was happy with my hair - it stayed in place all night and Jackie did a great job doing something simple. My issue is with the makeup. I couldn’t find anyone with an opening for makeup and now I know why there was availability here. Not a fan with how it was applied. I was told mascara is the hardest thing to do as a makeup artist and I can just add more when I get back to my room. Additionally, I said okay to a lip color (which in hindsight I shouldn’t have) which was applied right out of the tube. There was no disposable wand used or anything to make it hygienic and I didn’t even realize what was happening until I had asked for a lip touch up before I left and I was told to do it myself. So I did. But I used the lipgloss without a disposable wand and didn’t realize it until after that I was using the actual wand in the tube that I’m sure hundreds have used prior.
