Salon Ystad

Amazingly cute salon and Mekenna is an absolute ROCKSTAR. I would follow her to the ends of the earth to get my hair cut! Not only is she incredibly talented at hair styling/coloring/cutting, she could also double as my therapist. The time truly flies by when I’m sitting in her chair. I look forward to each and every haircut with Mekenna at Salon Ystad, and I truly appreciate that the owner and staff have taken COVID safety measures so seriously. 10/10, would recommend to anyone.

Mekenna is the absolute BEST! I love her approach as a stylist, which is unique to all other experiences I’ve had. She really takes her time and does not rush. She feels your hair and talks to you about your hair goals and vision for your cut while also working in how certain things will work with your hair type (eg. thickness, texture, cowlicks, etc). As she cuts she checks in and is completely in offended by changes you may request or questions you may have. She is very friendly, open and chatty and she is true to herself. I feel very comfortable with her and respect her as a person and stylist. I was able to reach my scary goal with her of going very short with my hair after having it long. She made me feel confident and let me go there when I was ready and with baby steps. Not sure if I would have made the plunge with anyone else. She’s the best. She is also very LGBTQ+ friendly and the first thing she asks upon your initial appt are your pronouns. Don’t hesitate, go see her!
