Chez Madeleine European Hairstyling

I've been going here for over 5 years. This is the best salon in the area hands down. I go here for my nails and my hair and have referred several people who agree, this salon knows what they're doing. I get so many compliments on my nails because they are always done right (and quick!) the first time. As for my hair, all of the stylists are terrific and on time. I have a HUGE amount of trust in them and they always exceed my expectations. I refer this salon all the time.

Expensive but high quality--you get what you pay for here. Granted, I don't get any high-end services: no perm, no color, just a fairly simple short haircut. That said, I have difficult hair: many, many cowlicks and seborrheic dermatitis which means extra care has to be taken in choosing products and styles, and in not applying too high heat. They have always done a superb job, and in spite of my condition, I feel relaxed here and my scalp does better in the week or two after my visits. Wash, cut, style (no blowdry) is $30-35 plus tips. For me, it's worth it. They also offer spa services and manicure/pedicure, but I have not used those.

I first knew about Chez Madeleine from a friend. She recommended John for a hair cut. That was the best recommendation I have had for the past 20 years. John can stand tall next to the true professionals and artists anywhere in the world. I was really grateful to finally have my hair cut by John this week. It was a great boost to my morale. He and all the staff there are great. I feel good being with them, like visiting an old friend. Sue Jones
