I came here on an emergency after a Groupon appointment for a full balayage didn’t work out. I’m leaving for a cruise on Saturday and today is my only day off to get my hair done. After my Groupon appointment didn’t work out I was desperate to find a place to get my hair done. I found this hair studio and she was able to get me in for a 3:15 appointment. Little did I know I would be treated unfairly and treated as if I’m poor because how dare I tried to book something from Groupon. She told me $350 for a full balayage and $65 for a haircut. I told her I’m not poor and I can afford $350. I also told her that on Madison Reeds website, their starting rate for a full balayage is $180. This woman was so mean to me and made me feel like I was a poor person who couldn’t afford her prices. She then proceeded to tell me that she “didn’t feel comfortable” simply because I was asking her about her prices. I ended up leaving, and I told her i was going to write a bad review. I have had mixed experiences at this salon. Last time I went in for a haircut at 5:30, she ended up running late until 6:10 and it seemed as if she did not know that my appointment was at that time. This led to obvious rushed work from her to accommodate both me and her client after me. To begin, I asked for basic face framing layers/specific hair cut which I’ve gotten multiple times from other hair stylists without an issue at all. She kept making it a point to tell me that the way my hair grew on my frontal scalp would decrease the chances of satisfaction from the desired haircut, which I was like “ok I just want the face framing layers” and stated that I did not care if it looked exactly like the photo. Then she continued to make a show about the way my hair grew, lifting my front hair pieces and literally RUBBING the area that she claimed did not grow enough hair, which I have never ever had any other hair stylist make such a big deal about what I requested.
