This place is a true gem. I am super "thorough" when it comes to my hair and most stylists new to my hair underestimate how much there is and how long it will take, then have not been trained in the techniques that work best for my straight, fine but extremely dense hair. Enter Jared: stylist extraordinaire! Jared knew just how to cut the ends of my hair to eliminate bluntness (more of a west coast thing, I'm from CA originally). He is efficient and is an excellent communicator and really tries to identify what you want. My last two good stylists retired to pursue other work (I'm working hard to not take it personally :P) so it can be frustrating to explain a specific technique you kind of need for your hair to yet another stylist, but he has been amazing and my first cut with him was perfect. I've been several times since then and he's been fantastic. His highlights are also very nicely done, he does a very fine weaving of the highlights so it blends in well. I have darker blonde hai

My second time at Impulse. I am newer to RI and Providence and did a lot of research before I selected a salon. They had great marks for service and value so it was just a bonus that I only have to cross the street to get there from my home :-) Jaclyn has cut and colored my hair both times. I was a “virgin” to color and she eased me in. I felt trust with her knowledge and even with my cut, have pretty much just let her do her thing and couldn’t be happier. Salons are getting crazy with what they charge these days. The prices are great in comparison to other competitors in downtown (I have competitors in very close proximity to me) but that doesn’t matter if you don’t get a great finished product and good overall experience- Here you get it all.
