Great Clips

I have naturally curly hair, (in between 3C and 4A). So when I want to get into a salon and get my hair trimmed I'm always hesitant and very picky because I want to make sure the stylist does a good job. Any stylist can cut hair, but can they cut curly hair? And any good honest stylist knows that cutting curly hair you need to be experienced at it. I got in with Elle here at Great Clips, who is also the manager. After explaining to her that I got in with another salon a week before and wasn't happy with my trim, I wanted some layers. (I didn't want to go back to the same salon). Elle knew exactly what I wanted. I asked her before if she had done curly cuts and she said yes. I have frowned upon salons before that are not "fancy" because I am always worried they don't have "good stylists." Well now i know, it can be the opposite. The moment I sat in Elle's chair, I immediately felt comfortable. She asked questions about what I was looking for, and explained how she was going to give me

We had previous experiences with this location that were great, so wel felt confident bringing our son there for a haircut today. We were wrong. Our son has been growing his hair out and wants it to go to mid back, but his bangs grow fast, so my husband took him in for a bang trim and facial framing. The lady who did my son's hair kept asking my husband if he was sure, and that his hair should be trimmed to grow better. My husband was persuaded. The lady lobbed off his length, which was past his shoulders at this point, to just below his head. I think this was to get more money than a bang trim. That wasn't the worst thing. His hair looked like a bowl cut (picture a page boy, medieval squire look), and it was uneven in many places. It looked horrible. We had to go to Perfect Look salon, and thankfully the woman there was so kind and only charged $5 to fix it, but she was appalled. By the time we got it fixed it was too late to call in to complain but I will be doing so tomorrow.

Service by staff was incredibly dismissive and rude. Went with my partner and she was treated incredibly rudely and demeaned and belittled. She was told that the haircut she wanted was unfitting for her and her hair texture was “hard to work with”. Additionally stylist gave rude personal input in what seemed like an attempt to dissuade my partner from what they wanted to do. When attempting to support my partner I was instructed to sit in the lobby despite seeing other people with their company. I can’t fathom how service like this is allowed. Will not come back.
