Our Urban Rose Salon

I for the longest time wanted to try hair braids. And finally decided to go ahead with it and found this very nice salon of diverse and welcoming people. I got a 2 line braid on both sides and I love it. Ofc braiding isn't easy to do or easy to sit through but the end result came out stunning in their professional hands. Thank you Urban Rose. This place is a gift to anyone with wavy, curly, thick, knotty, thin, problematic hair of ANY kind. Not only do they make their own conditioner and other products, but they will never make you feel bad about your hair. As someone who used to have to face judgment for their kind of hair, every time I come to this place it’s like they’ve faced it all. They don’t need me to make excuses for my hair, or to apologize for how difficult it is. They don’t complain or guilt trip me. They just treat my thick, difficult hair like it’s no problem. They’ve done any hair style I’ve asked for, and they always get it picture perfect. As a professional, I can’t afford to have bad hair days. I have to come here practically every 1-3 weeks to have my hair under control at all. I started coming here months ago when I was simply too busy to keep having to fight with a hair salon. Patricia is a truly gifted! It’s difficult to find a hair salon in Jersey City that caters to natural hair. She did my first sew-in ever and it turned out bomb…it blended beautifully people thought it was my real hair. In addition, they actually wash, condition, and blow dry…not like the ones that require you to have your hair done before you sit in their chair. Definitely going back!
