The Uptown Hair District

I am sad to have to give this a one star but I had a terrible experience with the stylist I had named Todd. Part of it was my fault as I called Saturday morning for a same day appointment. Todd was able to get me in that day. It is the worst hair cut and overall stylist experience I have ever had. I have medium length, fine texture hair and it was a very hack hair cut. It is choppy, uneven, and looks like I took a kitchen scissors to my own head. He did not listen to what I was looking for, nor did he know how to dry or style it. He may be good at other services, but I do not recommend getting a haircut from him. He stated when it was all said and done that i could texture it myself if I wanted it different. I’m very disappointed and will not be going back. I can’t review without this effecting other stylists, I apologize for that. I will not be returning or ever recommending him as a stylist. I had a massage from Caroline and it was one of the best I've ever had. She has magic hands! The salon is very lovely and calming. They are running a special for 60 minutes for $65 for first time clients. Highly recommend. I will definitely be back.

I had nothing but a great experience at The Hair District! Leah Greer was my stylist, and she was amazing, super sweet and resourceful! I got a vintage hair updo for a friend's wedding, and before Leah got into her work, she made recommendations based on the weather, indoor or outdoor setting and, of course, the outfit. I danced all night, and my hair did not move a bit! Most importantly, she ensured my hair was secured and not in pain by pins poking my head. I’m from NJ, but I would love to go back to the saloon when I’m visiting Minneapolis again! Thank you, Leah, for giving me the best experience! Service: Updos
