If you got braids here and paid a $5 fee for using a debit card, call your bank for a refund and report this place to the maryland state attorney general. I am filing a report notifying the state attorney. A surcharge cannot be charged against a debit card. It is illegal. I am reporting this establishment to the state attorneys office. What is also illegal is charging more than 3% as a card processing fee. They charge $5 for all card transactions. Thanks to Elizabeth who did my braids well. I got braids a year ago and came today to be told the braids would be 220-300. The audacity. No wonder each time i come here there are new people. Ended up getting the braids for $200. Any business without posted prices and where the price can go from $250 to $200 is a scam. Even more of a scam is charging $5 when people pay by card. So I’m doing a review on Albert-tine Contour Braiding at 305 Muddy Branch RD Gaithersburg MD. They are open 24 hours a day so instead of waiting for your regular hairdresser or somewhere else you can always go there. The inside of it is primarily black as far as the braiders and the interior. But when I called to say I want to get flat twist done, they told me that it would be $15 for a washing because usually it’s $25. It’ll be 50 to take out my hair and it will cost me $80 to to get it done. around $145 when I usually calls me at my local place about $70 because the wash is already included. My total came up to $149. When you go inside it’s mostly black floors, black chairs. There is a little sitting area they’re selling pocketbooks Shea butter, other products in plastic containers with no names on it so if you’re not familiar with some of the stuff, then don’t worry about it because they don’t tell you what it is or whether you need it for your hair or not. My first experience with Albertine hair salon was good (which was a year ago) but my second not so much. The prices arent consistent, you're told one price them get to the register and itll be $40+ additional. Forget about booking online, call to schedule your appointment because the price you book online will not be the same in person. The owner is not very friendly and professional with her customers, I've gotten hung up on, and my calls were fwd. when I tried to call to book appointments & verify pricing. Their prices are expensive!! The workers are okay but they take long, so I would not book any activities afterwards. They play tons of Christian African music for hours, I normally just go to sleep. Depending on the time can get chatty & loud. Salon looks clean. When you go to checkout they always call the owner before checking you out. Overall, you can get better service somewhere else.Theyre tons of braiding salons that will provide that for you and with cheaper and consistent p
