I had such a good experience here today. I got a last minute appointment and they had me in and out in thirty minutes with a cut and style that would have taken less experienced stylists an hour. Very no nonsense, good cut, and for half of what I’ve paid at other salons.

Got a half-head of blonde foils, wash, cut, blow wave and thinning for less than $150 (curly, mid-length hair) with wonderful, speedy service in a lovely salon. Highly recommend for both men and women. Services: Haircut, Hair coloring

Virginia and her daughter Minya run Salon 1622, which is also the only salon that gets my money. I’ve been going there since 2018 and I’ve never walked out of there less-than ecstatic. I feel very strongly about supporting local, independent, family-run businesses, especially since they took the biggest hit during the pandemic shut down. These two ladies know how to turn and burn seats like you wouldn’t believe! There have been times I’ve come in after work for an appointment and they have the whole salon rockin going from chair to chair, making sure everyone is taken care of. If it’s slow they are easy and very humble, real conversation while they work on your hair, but if it’s busy and you just want to read they won’t bother you. Their objective is to give you the best haircut or process you could imagine in the shortest amount of time possible. I’m pretty sure I can vouch for all women with a ton of hair when I say the last thing we want to do is sit in a salon chair with foil all o
