I’ve been coming here since 2014, and I’m long due on leaving a review. I’ve gotten Keratin treatments, color, hair cuts, and blow outs and I always leave looking amazing. Even now that I’ve grown out the keratin treatments, whenever I get blowouts, Ashley has me leaving like I got a hair transplant: shiny, bouncy, sleek, flawless. I get complements on my hair literally... everywhere. At physical therapy, from family & friends, people stop me on the street. I always have great conversation with Ashley and she gets me in and out of there! I recently tried out a salon in my neighborhood because it seems I’ve forgotten how truly inadequate stylists can be when it comes to styling really curly/thick hair. If you come to indigo salon you will never be made to feel like your hair is unmanageable, a hassle, too much, etc. love you Ashley! I’ll be back soon!

Finding a hair stylist is one of the hardest things. I moved to Chicago during Covid and hadn’t found a place I liked or vibed with. From my first call to the Indigo Room I knew I was in good hands. I wasn’t sure the service I needed for the color I wanted for my hair. The salon worked with me and I provided pictures of my hair and my vision for what I wanted for my hair to look like via email and I was given a quote for the cost. From there I booked and couldn’t wait to meet Ashley. At my visit we went over what I wanted again and Ashley understood exactly what I wanted. She did such an amazing job with the cut and color for my hair that I can’t stop looking in the mirror ???? The ambiance of the salon is also amazing and I can’t wait to come back. Worst haircut I have ever received in my LIFE. I came to Indigo Room based on recommendations from a friend. The lady that cut my hair listened to absolutely NOTHING i said, my hair is curly but on the thinner side, and naturally curls up a lot when it dries. I specifically asked her that my hair be SHOULDER length, and to avoid the triangle (pyramid) shape that most hair dressers end up cutting for curly haired women. I was SHOCKED when she just completely chopped almost 6 inches of my hair, my hair is now just past my EARS! Not SHOULDERS, EARS. AND it has that dreadful pyramid look to it. I don't understand how this salon are curly hair experts. The way she cut my hair was just heart wrenching, and she just seemed to not understand the concept that if you want CURLY hair to END up at a certain length (aka shoulder in my case) it NEEDS to be cut a bit longer than shoulder length so you can account for the curl bounce factor. Not to mention, absolute horrendous job at layering. I look
