I have incredibly curly hair and I came here as the ratings were fantastic. I scheduled and paid for a wash, haircut and style. I explained my curly hair and desired length. My stylist pulled my hair pin straight and cut one line around my head and said she was done. I had to ask for framing and the style. As I was getting styled my hair got shorter due to the curls and ended up being much shorter than the discussed length. She stopped in the middle of the style and said she was done as she didn't want to give me frizz. It was an overall terrible experience. I wasn't listened to after being guaranteed that the stylist was very familiar with curly hair. Every curly haired person can tell which sylist knows how to do our hair. This one did not, panicked and refused to finish my hair. What stylist who claims expert knowledge of curly hair can't style it for fear of frizz? I left as fast as I could so I didn't cry in the salon.

I first went to Essence when I was referred to Charlee, and I haven't stopped going since! I've been to several different salons over the years, and nobody has ever sat down with me to understand my hair goals until Charlee! Not only with color and style but also with hair and scalp health. I have never gotten as many compliments on my hair as I do now. I am incredibly grateful for her honesty, and I trust her expert opinion wholeheartedly. I can't recommend her enough! Services: Hairstyling, Hair coloring, Hair hydration treatments

Kindsay is absolutely amazing! Her team of stylists provide an awesome experience and create a comfortable atmosphere. The salon is gorgeous and extremely clean! I drive three hours from Illinois because I love this salon so much. ❤️ Services: Haircut, Hairstyling, Hair coloring
