Mooi Salon and Spa

This salon ruined my hair. I gave it 2 stars because the people were friendly, but they don't seem to know much about chemical relaxers. I usually get a Japanese thermal straightening whenever I visit Atlanta but decided to get a chemical relaxer on the advice of the stylist and the owner. They said it would be better than the Japanese thermal straightening and more affordable. The process took about an hr which was great but it did not straighten/relax my hair at all and now it feels so coarse and rough... after paying $200 I expected better results. The owner did try to rectify the situation by offering my money back but I am more disappointed by the lack of knowledge of the chemicals and products they use on their customers. ***In response to you saying you told me to not wash my hair for a few days is a COMPLETE LIE. I asked Brian several times when I could wash my hair and he said I could wash my hair THAT VERY NIGHT I GOT THE CHEMICAL RELAXER! HOW DARE YOU TRY TO LIE TO MAKE IT S

I first learned about this salon after my stylist, Brian, started working there. The location is great - it's convenient (if you live/visit the regular downtown area), and the staff is incredibly friendly. I usually get the following services there: 1) Relaxer, and 2) Color and Conditional treatment. I am a pretty low maintenance person so I don't do intricate styles (especially for it to succumb to Florida humidity) and I have never had a problem with either of those services there. Note: to the person who recently claimed their hair was ruined by relaxing, I would like to say that while I'm truly sorry you didn't receive the excellent service I regularly receive, you lost me at claiming that you were told you can wash your hair after relaxing it on the same day. As a person who has done this for many of their adult years (despite having a sensitive scalp), I can say that I have never and would never ever wash my hair the same day as a relaxer, and no stylist I have ever had would ev

I absolutely love the entire staff at Mooi Salon. Bryan, Alisha and Natalia are just amazing! Always feel like I’m at home with them and extremely happy with my hair, every time I go. Can’t wait to go back! ????
