this is my favorite place for a haircut and a shampoo. i love this salon so much that i always look forward to my monthly visit. i live several miles away and pass a hundred other establishments to visit my favorite. the prices are astonishingly low. the store is welcoming and clean and aesthetically pleasing. i always ask for shri qi [which, in my american accent, i pronounce "sure chi"]. she has a delightful personality and is a splendid conversationalist. she makes every visit fun, while taking meticulous care of grooming and styling my hair. the neighborhood is safe: right across the street from the police station. transportation is a breeze, well served by the 51 + 72 ( + other ) bus lines, and it is a short walk to the 11th street Bart entrance. i cannot say enough good things about this haircutting experience. i always leave with a smile on my face. it ranks near the top of all the things i love about living in Oakland!
