JoJo’s Believe it or Knot Salon

Jojo has been great with my son who has sensory issues and had become fearful of haircuts. She made sure he was relaxed before starting the haircut and was able to meet him where he was at. Jojo used humor and patience to ease his anxiety.

If I could give Jojo all the stars from the night sky I would! She deserves way more than 5. My 5 year old son HATES hair cuts. In the past they have caused him an extreme amount of anxiety, fear, and consistently ended in meltdowns. His hair was long, thick, wavy, and hadn’t been cut for a year prior to our appointment. Jojo effortlessly established a rapport with him on his first visit. She’s an extremely talented stylist, but also clearly has a gift working with special needs kiddos. She made him feel safe, comfortable, and he actually had, “The Best Time Ever!” -Direct Quote- His new short hair cut looks impressively cool, and before I could finish buckling him in the car he asked, “When can I come back to see Jojo again?” ???????? Jojo cut my 3 year old autistic sons hair and did an AMAZING job! I called her upset and frustrated after another hair salon refused to cut my sons hair because he was crying. He often gets overwhelmed and something simple like a haircut can be traumatic. Jojo was kind, patient and understanding. She took her time, letting him get comfortable, doing bubbles , pushing him on the swing and letting him run around, going at his pace. I can't recommend her enough and what she's doing is truly amazing and such a relief to a parent of a special needs child. Service: Haircut
