JCPenney Salon

I went here on my birthday and asked for a deep conditioning treatment and for my hair to be blow dried since it was very cold outside (in the single digits). When I was done and ready to pay, they charged me $75. Their computer was down so they had to look up prices in their black 3-ring binder and add them up manually. I asked if they were sure about the charges because I had just gotten a haircut with a blowout styles for considerably less at the very same salon just a month earlier. They said yes it was correct. I did not have the time to challenge their pricing and really didn’t feel like arguing right before my birthday dinner, so I paid it and left. However, I will not be returning and I will share my experience with friends and family who are looking for a place to get their hair done.

Absolutely LOVED the service I received from every staff member I encountered from booking to finish! I especially enjoyed Magaly, who specializes im ethnic/natural hair. She was patient, thorough, &very personable! It did cost more than what I usually pay however, I would visit again and recommend this salon.

Update: This evening after going to church at the cathedral, I tried one last time to buy a Paul Mitchell haircare product (Wax Works) that I have been purchasing here for many years. Again, ALL of the shelves were half empty and the salon's retail section looked out of business. I got borderline snark from the girl "working" the counter- yet she was goofy friendly with my husband. I'm done trying with this place. Selection and availability with haircare supplies has been very low for approx. a year and a half now. The shelves have been empty my last 3 visits including today. I would love to shop online for JC Penney salon products but having tried that once and the item taking 4 to 6 weeks to arrive, I am no longer interested. I am now forced to go to Ulta Beauty, but they do not carry everything that the JC Penney Salon did. I miss the sales with the buy one get one half off, etc., at the salon. If JC Penney wishes for more customer traffic downtown, then pump up the volume! When I
